Sitara Bird is an avid enthusiast for movement medicine and holistic health.  A Detroit based teacher, she finds her roots in alignment based yoga and her expression of spirit through hoop dance.  In 2010 Sitara received her first 200 RYT through Red Lotus School of Yoga.  That same year, she studied with Hoopnotica and became a certified hoop instructor.  Sitara has since completed another 200 RYT with Sofiah Thom and Ashleigh Sergeant of Danyasa Yoga Arts in 2014.  She has refined her teaching, exploring the healing aspects of therapeutic asana with the Citizen Yoga.  She is currently undergoing study with Ashleigh Sergeant and Meg McCranken of the Alaya School of Yoga to receive her 500 hr RYT.  Her wild heart and love for learning encourages her to study under a multitude of teachers with a variety of movement backgrounds.  Having dedicated most of her life to personal growth, Sitara aims to inspire others to find their authentic selves through the healing powers of movement, nutrition and radical self love.  When not in the studio teaching, you can find her developing whole food plant based recipes or blissfully weaving textures with her hoop.
